Presidents Message

It is said that the Indian farmer is born in debt, lives in debt and dies in debt. The cycle of debt is a burden for poor farmers and it often leads them to desperation. Since inception in 1953, Shimoga District Co-operative Central Bank Ltd., has been at the forefront of farmer welfare. Our bank has given maximum priority for farming sector and come up with innovative schemes to address farmer’s needs, thereby improving their lives.

Adapting to the changing times, the bank has also strived to remain abreast of new developments in every way, be it computerization, adoption of new banking technologies and best practices, innovative financing options or diversification into the non-farm sector.

As a result of these measures, our bank has maintained a very healthy profile and I am proud to have got the opportunity to serve this institution. During these years it has been my endeavor to do my best for the bank and enable it to grow to greater heights.

I am grateful to everyone who has contributed to the bank’s growth all these years and I seek people’s continued faith and co-operation.

Sri. R.M Manjunath Gowda
